Consumers Want Interactive TV Says Survey Reviews

Microsoft launched Bing to compete with the might of Google, and afterward visual perception the popularity of online tv they have improved their entertainment section to include streaming boob tube, and comprehensive tv episode listings. Bing have also added music, lyrics and online games.
The changes come after Bing has seen entertainment becoming more important to web users. “In the submit of entertainment, 76% of multitude use search to help find and navigate their entertainment options online, but only 10% say they have a trusted endow to go,” writes Bing’s senior VP, Yusuf Mehdi. The Bing search now looks for content from many providers including Youtube and Hulu

An example of how Bing is listening to users comes with the addition of lyrics. Bing saw the anatomy of 70% plus of users searched for lyrics on the web, so added a novel way for searchers to find lyrics. It licensed over 5 million songs for full-length streaming via Microsoft’s Zune service, however users can only listen to a full song once.
According to Mehdi, over 60% of people have used a search engine to find a TV episode online, and more than 30% of users watch all of their TV content on the web. To that end Bing has added a complete listing of television streams and info online (more than 1,500 tv shows), plus guide information to organize TV viewing. Bing also has added feeds and reviews from social networking websites.
The survey of 500 tv viewers aged between 13-65 showed that 89% wanted interactive television apps track on the home tv, and the rest locution they are very interested in the apps. Interestingly respondents were interested not just in the tv content but also the commercials. 73% said they would like to see an app which lets them petition additional information close to a company or product after watching an ad, women showed a stronger interest in this, being the shopaholics they are.
Ellen Dudar, FourthWall’s chief product officer said:- “This survey reveals that TV watchers, men, women, young, old — from all across the country are excited about interactive television,”
The survey also discovered:-
20% of respondents feel their TVs are “personalized” to their own needs and tastes, compared with 81% who said their computers were nicely custom-made.
Of the 82% of TV viewers who say they surf the web on PCs while also watching TV, 31% said they would spend less time using computers if they had access to these applications on TV.
The top three apps that TV viewers said they were “very interested” in were an interactive brave out application (52%), followed by local news and information (47%) and caller ID on TV (44%).
This is good news for live internet tv, so long as they give users access to the web rather than restrict them to a handful of apps.
